Privacy notice
Short version: this website sets no cookies, runs no analytics and loads nothing from anyone else. The only personal information we hold is what you type into the enquiry form.
Who we are
Stocksmoor Village Hall is a registered charity (no. 500303), administered by the Stocksmoor Village Hall Trustees, at 16 Station Road, Stocksmoor, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire HD4 6XN. For anything about this notice, email stocksmoorvillagehall@gmail.com.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies. There is no analytics package, no advertising or tracking pixel, no social media widget, no embedded map and no third-party font service. Every file the site loads comes from this domain, which is why you are not being asked to accept anything.
Our web host keeps standard server logs (the page requested, the time, a browser identifier and an IP address) for security and to keep the site running. Those are the host’s records, kept for a short period, and are not used to build a profile of you.
The enquiry form
When you send an enquiry, the details you fill in are emailed to the hall’s bookings manager. Nothing is stored in a database on this website.
- What we collect: your name, email address and message, plus anything else you choose to add — a phone number, the type of event, a date, a time of day, approximate numbers.
- Why: to answer your enquiry and, if you go ahead, to administer your booking. That is our legitimate interest as the charity that runs the hall, and it is the reason you contacted us.
- Who sees it: the trustees and volunteers involved in bookings. The email itself sits with our email provider. We do not sell, rent or share your details with anyone else, and we will not add you to a mailing list.
- How long: enquiries that do not lead to a booking are deleted once they are clearly no longer live. Booking records are kept for as long as the charity needs them for its accounts and insurance.
The form also does two things purely to keep spam out: it includes a hidden field that real visitors never see, and it limits how many submissions can come from the same internet connection in an hour. Neither is used to identify you.
Other people’s details on this site
The groups and classes pages list contact details that the group organisers have asked us to publish so new members can get in touch. If you run one of those groups and want your details changed or removed, email us and we will do it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, or object to how we are using it. Email stocksmoorvillagehall@gmail.com and we will deal with it. If you are not happy with how we have handled things you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Links to other sites
Where we link out — to Facebook, to a class’s own website, to InPost, to Google Maps for directions, to Kirklees Council — those sites have their own privacy policies, and nothing is loaded from them until you choose to follow the link.
